you should know that braids are called different names. They are called loose braids, Poetic Justice braids or Single braids. Box braids are called so because of the pattern they form when parting your natural hair i.e square patterns. Any other pattern would probably be the poetic justice braids (which are usually jumbo sized) or your usual loose braids that vary in size and pattern. Okay..moving on.
Don’t know how to style yours? Well here are 4 ways to style your braids for fresher looks. All the natural sistas out there, braiding your hair can be a great way to protect your hair while transitioning or otherwise.

1. Cute Updo
Now to kick off this series of tutorials I decided to put up this easy tutorial. This is a simple up-do that can be easily pulled off. If you’re a simple girl that just wants something you can have on to a party or the beach…then you can definitely go for the up-do. Beauty & Hair Blogger Jennifer Olaleye shows us here how to pull this off with braided sides.
2. The Fishtail Side Bang
3. The Braided MoHawk
This hairstyle is a little like the other one but with a normal braid. You can be creative with it; like weave to the side instead of the centre or do twists instead of a braid…to add your own personal touch to it. Watch this Youtube video from Tiarra Monet figure out how its done.
4. The Twisted Side braid
This is another one for the simple girls. We look to Jennifer again for this braided hair inspiration. It’s simple looking from the front but when you turn more to the side you see the detail and get a whole new perspective of the hairstyle. She also shows different ways to jazz it up for a more unique look. Press play to learn just how to pull it off.
There you have it…4 easy ways to style braids. If you have any braid advice others can benefit from don’t forget to share it. Will be waiting
