The Internet is still buzzing about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West naming their newborn daughter “North West.” There is really no excuse to saddle your child with a name like North West for life, but since Barbara Walters asked for an explanation, Kris Jenner gave her one.
“I love the name North — I’m pro North, absolutely,” Jenner says. “The way [Kim] explained it to me was that North means highest power and she says that North is their highest point together.”She adds, “I thought that was very sweet.” Despite the direction of the 1-week-old‘s full name, Jenner is quick to point out that baby girl’s surname isn’t an issue. “You don’t walk around calling somebody North West — you just [call them by their first name],” she says, sharing the couple have already decided on a nickname for their daughter.
