Reasons why It’s OK to Be Beautiful

Our society can seem superficial at times, with a crazed obsession with celebrity culture and other beautiful people we see in the media. Looking beautiful is delightful to see, plus it can show skill,  intelligence, and ingenuity. Whether or not people who beautify themselves are aware of it, making themselves beautiful has also resulted in bonding them together socially: another aspect of evolutionary survival.

The world has seen the royal baby for the first time as the future king left hospital with his ecstatic parents this evening, who revealed they had not yet chosen him a name. Prince William and Kate waved and smiled broadly to the waiting cameras as they held their prince on the steps of the private Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in London, 26 hours after he was delivered, weighing 8lbs 6oz. Speaking for the first time since giving birth, an obviously moved Duchess of Cambridge said: 'It's been very emotional. Any parent will know what this feeling is like.' As they left St Mary's carefully cradling their precious child, the Duke of Cambridge followed the steps his parents Charles and Diana took with him 31 years ago, when he was born there on June 21, 1982. 'He's a big boy, quite heavy. We're still working on a name,' he told reporters, adding: 'Well he has a good pair of lungs on him, that's for sure.'

Confirming that the prince was overdue, William said: ‘I will remind him of his tardiness when he is older.’ With a huge smile he then added: ‘He’s got her looks thankfully’ to which the Duchess responded ‘No, no, no I’m not sure about that.’ The Duchess wore a lilac purple dress, with her long hair falling in waves around her face. The new father wore a blue open neck shirt rolled up to his elbows with black trousers. The couple then returned to the hospital as William held his son, swaddled in a blanket, before bringing him out again in his car seat. William then visibly breathed a sigh of relief when he successfully installed his baby on the back seat with his wife, before driving them home to Kensington Palace cheered on by a huge crowd.

Kanye West cuts to the chase in new Black Skinhead video with opening image of three black Ku Klux Klan-style hoods

Kanye West released his new interactive video Black Skinhead on Monday and wasted no time getting to graphic imagery. The black-and-white avant-garde video opens with the image of three black men wearing pointy black Ku Klux Klan-like hoods with eye cutouts. Barking dogs show up next in fast-cutting scenes followed by images of bald men with their backs to the viewer. The 36-year-old rapper soon bounces into the video in computer-generated form shirtless and wearing a large chain. The video was released on the singer's website kanyewest.com and was presented by Donda, the singer's creative agency named after his late mother. The video made its debut online and featured an interactive element that allowed users to slow down or speed up the tune and its corresponding images.

The video also enables watchers to click a button to capture still images of the video.

Knight recently photographed the controversial rapper in an artsy spread for W magazine. Knight in 2001 directed his first video for Björk for her song Pagan Poetry and in 2011 directed the video for Lady Gaga's single Born This Way.

Kanye was furious earlier this month when an unfinished video for Black Skinhead was leaked online. The singer posted six angry messages on Twitter insisting websites remove the rough draft and also cursed the person who leaked it.

It's a BOY! Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to a healthy future King

An overjoyed Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are the proud parents of a healthy baby boy, and the nation celebrates the birth of a future king. The couple’s son weighed 8lb 6oz and was delivered at 4.24pm today at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington with his proud father, Prince William, looking on. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight, said a spokesman for the palace. Palace sources said the couple chose to delay the public announcement of the birth to allow them to spend 'quality time' together. William's father, Charles, the Prince of Wales said this evening: 'Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild.   'It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. 'Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.'

Daughter-In-Law Versus Mother-In-Law

I believe the story of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is not new to anyone in our society. I can't say what this relationship is like outside Nigeria, but I am going to write from the Nigerian perspective. We all know that it is always difficult for two women to dwell together and live under the same roof in unity. It doesn't matter how closely related they are, the truth is that even twins are not left out. I don't know why this is happening and I don't know when it is going to end, but as the male folks always say, women are their own worst enemies. This battle among women gets hotter when a man decides to bring another woman home to become his flesh and body. A man is first his mother's son and as it is said, no matter your age, you remain a child to your mother. Some mothers find it difficult to accept the fact that their son or daughter has grown and should be allowed some independence. I have taken time to critically look at this issue because of the problems women are having in their relationships? Why is it that our men don't have this same issue with their mothers-in-law? I have also wondered why fathers-in-law don't always have issues with either the son or daughter -in-law.

The ‘Color Purple‘ star badmouthed Oprah in a scandalous radio interview with Matty P’s Radio Happy Hour. Stopping short of calling Oprah a narcissist, Chong said, “The thing that’s really great about Oprah, that you can’t take away from her, is that she is a great brown noser. If you were in a room with her, she will pick the most powerful person and she will become best friends with them.” Chong, who is half black, said Oprah would’ve been a field nigger because of her dark skin and homely looks. President Obama has angered conservatives most especially Fox News with his latest statements on the controversial Zimmerman verdict. Obama said he could have been Trayvon Martin 35 years ago. He said he too was followed in stores because of his skin color. Obama questioned the outcome if Trayvon had been white and had a gun that night. “If a white male teen would have been involved in this scenario, both the outcome and the aftermath might have been different,” Obama said. Obama also praised Martin’s parents for handling the Zimmerman not guilty verdict with “great dignity”. Obama made the statements during what the NY Post described as a surprise appearance Friday at the White House.

He instructed the department of justice to investigate the Stand Your Ground law that was part of the instructions given to the jury at the start of the recent trial of the man who killed him. On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Justice, headed by Attorney General Eric Holder, ordered the Sanford, Florida police department not to return the gun used by George Zimmerman to shoot Martin. The request indicates the DOJ is pressing ahead with a probe into Zimmerman’s racial profiling of Martin. Additionally, there are rumors that Zimmerman planned to sell the gun in a private auction.

How Mandela's 95th Birthday was celebrated yesterday

As an ailing Nelson Mandela recuperates in a South African hospital, the world celebrated his 95th birthday Thursday 18th of july 2013, honoring his legacy in various ways, including performing 67 minutes of community service.Schoolchildren sang "Happy Birthday" to the former president during morning assemblies while crowds left flowers and candles outside his Pretoria hospital. The day also marks 15 years since he married his wife, Graca Machel. Children waved South African flags at the Milton Mbekela school in the village of Qunu, Mr Mandela's boyhood home. President Jacob Zuma said that Mandela, who has been hospitalized with a lung ailment since June, is "steadily improving." Zuma's latest assessment comes after weeks of describing Mandela's heath as critical but stable. The president wished Mandela a happy birthday. "We are proud to call this international icon our own as South Africans and wish him good health," Zuma said. "We thank all our people for supporting Madiba throughout the hospitalization with undying love and compassion. We also thank all for responding to the call to give Madiba the biggest birthday celebration ever this year."

So, everybody around you is getting engaged! Every day you log onto facebook you find that YET another person is engaged! Although you're happy for them, deep down-- you're thinking umm..ANOTHER PERSON?! UGH! WHEN IS MY TIME?!??! You go to church, pray, spend time with God, you're living right but HOW is it that all of your unsaved co-workers are now engaged.. or all your friends are engaged, married.. having kids but you find yourself.. still single. 
I just want to encourage you today sis. I have felt how you've felt and I have been where you've been. First and foremost, you have got to stop comparing your life to another person. You've heard this before but I'm going to remind you that you're a Christian. You have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you. Do you know what that means to all of heaven??! You've been adopted, set apart, pulled aside, HIDDEN and PROTECTED under the care of CHRIST. Do you think He's going to just let you run off any marry some of anybody??! Anybody can get a ring honey. You can walk outside and pick a random up off the street and make him marry you. Proverbs 24:1 says: Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them. So.. that should clear up being jealous of a bunch of random unsaved people that are getting engaged. They don't belong to Christ which means that CHRIST has no say-so in their relationships! 

8 Sleeping Positions and Their Effects on Health

1. On Your Back, Arms at Sides

Sleeping on your back with your arms at your side is generally considered to be the best sleeping position for spine health and it’s good for your neck, too, as long as you don’t use too many pillows. That said, back sleepers tend to snore more than those in any other position and sleep apnea is strongly associated with sleeping on the back.

2. On Your Back, Arms Up

This so-called “starfish” position is also good for the back. Whether you have your arms up around your pillow or not, sleeping on your back may also help to prevent facial wrinkles and skin breakouts. However, like the arms-down back sleeping position, this one can also result in snoring and problems with acid reflux. Plus, having your arms up can put pressure on nerves in your shoulders, leading to pain.

Judge revokes Chris Brown's probation from 2009 assault on Rihanna... but avoids jail for now

A judge on Monday revoked probation for Chris Brown stemming from his 2009 assault of then-girfriend Rihanna, but the singer remained free on his own recognizance. The 24-year-old singer was involved in an alleged hit-and-run incident in May that prompted the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office to seek revocation of the five-year probation he was placed on after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna. Brown was released on his own recognizance and was ordered to return to court in August to respond to the district attorney's allegations. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office had earlier filed court documents asking a judge to revoke Brown's probation, according to a report in TMZ. The request was made because Brown allegedly left the scene after rear-ending a woman's Mercedes-Benz in May.

The Mercedes driver, Olga Gure-Kovalenko, claimed that Brown refused to hand over his driver's license, registration and insurance information after the accident.
Brown was with his other on-and-off girlfriend Karreuche Tran at the time. Legal documents filed by prosecutors claimed that Brown 'willfully and unlawfully' broke the law in the hit-and-run incident. Even if the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office does not pursue the case because the victim doesn't want to prosecute Brown, the county district attorney will seek revocation because Brown was supposed to obey all laws as a term of his probation.

Celebrities including Ramsey Nouah, Dakore Akande, Toolz,  Uche Jombo-R, Lynxxx, Michelle Dede, Sound Sultan, Thelma Ojiji, Toolz, Kemi “Lala” Akindoju, Uti Nwachukwu, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Femi Jacobs were present at the party.

Proving to be very much a style star, Rita arrived in a simple-yet-chic white shirt dress. Sporting her signature afro as well as smoky eyes and alluring red lipstick, she styled the dress with silver stud earrings, a diamond encrusted ring, a silver bracelet and a black velvet clutch.

Music stars Praiz and Waje serenaded the birthday girl.

After the debut edition of the Remy Martins Pace Setters VIP party where Ibukun Shobowale of Road Runners was celebrated, the brand played host to one of Nigeria’s favorite female musicians, Miss Tiwa Savage. The party took place at The Place by Club Papas on Saturday 6th of July 2013.

Some of the celebrities present were Banky W, Ramsey Nouah, Dr Sid, KCee, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Adams Ibrahim (SoundCity VJ), Iceberg Slim, Kaffy, Vast of Bracket, Paul O, Chris Ubosi, Sam Onyelukwe, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Noble Igwe, Capital Femi, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Kunle Afolayan, BOJ, Tee Billz and of course Tiwa Savage herself. Guests were entertained with Remy Martin cocktails, food pairings, Remy Martin based deserts and good music.
