The collection is hitting all the right fashion notes for the classy and edgy fashionista. Featuring clean cut silhouettes on A-line dresses, streamlined & tailored trousers, asymmetrical cut outs, dresses with embroidered detail and tulle fabric skirts, the pieces are represent the formal side of spring. According to the designer, the collection was inspired by the romantic period. “A woman should feel innocent but also be romantic. I am a huge fan of Jane Austen novels and I always wanted my work to reflect on the novels I’ve read, especially Pride and Prejudice. The picture of the movies inspired me with a colour palette for this spring 2014 collection – soft, calm and romantic. Since I am of Nigerian decent, I wanted to incorporate the fabric of my heritage in this collection. Each piece has its own story. The looks that have a Victorian embroidered detail, symbolize the curves of a modern woman and how it makes the woman feel, which is very powerful but yet innocent and romantic. Overall I can call this spring 2014 collection a romantic novel and each look is its own chapter”.
