Today Wednesday 23rd October 2013, the Governor of Kwara state Abdulfatah Ahmed terminated the appointments of the State Executive Council. News Agency of Nigeria reports that all Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, have been relieved of their duties. Isiaka Gold, the Secretary to the state government, announced the news at the end of the State Executive Council meeting,; stating it is with immediate effect. Abdulfatah Ahmed isn’t alone when it comes to terminating the appointments of his cabinet. Exactly a month ago, on the 23rd of September the Governor of Oyo state Abiola Ajimobi sacked the secretary to the state government, chief of staff as well as all the commissioners and special advisers.

According to Premium Times, the political appointees were sacked at an executive council meeting held this morning, Monday 23rd September 2013. In a statement signed by Dotun Omokemi, the Director of Cabinet in the state’s civil service, the governor who got into office in May 2011 confirmed the termination.
