Prince, 54 reveals that he does not own a cell phone as he rocks a large Afro and retro look for new fashion shoot
It may be one the first and foremost modes of communication in the
21st century.
But in a new interview with V Magazine,
54-year-old legendary singer Prince hints that he does not have a cell phone. When
asked whether the Purple Rain icon owned a highly coveted iPhone, the star
scoffed. 'Are you serious? 'Hell, no,' he says, before mimicking a high-voiced
woman. 'Where is my phone? Can you call my phone? Oh, I can’t find it.' In fact
Prince reveals that he hardly communicates with others much at all, just a
select few in his team. 'This organization is different than most, in the sense
that we don’t take directions from the outside world,' he explains. 'It’s like a galaxy. The sun is in the center giving off energy,
and everything revolves around it … Nobody really talks to me. Nobody talks to
me a lot.'
The singer says he mostly
communicates directly with his devoted assistant Ramadan. 'I talk to her. She
talks to you. She talks to Richard. And so on and so forth. If I trust her,
then you can trust her,' he explains. In his interview, featured in he August edition of V magazine,
Prince also slams lip-synching, telling the publication that he would not dare
to cheat his fans like that.
'People come to see us
fifty times. Well, that’s not just going to see a concert—that’s some other
mess going on,' he explains. 'This music changes you. These people are not
being satisfied elsewhere by musicians, you feel what I’m saying?
Popular blogger Linda Ikeji accused of fraud

Some clients prefer to get on gossip sites like Naij.com or Linda Ikeji Blog despite my reservations and reasons. Naij was recently made themselves popular for using Russian hackers to redirect Etisalat subscribers to their homepage at some point, and Linda Ikeji is known amongst bloggers for her horde of hired hands, using multiple identities, and devices to post dozens of comments and spark irrelevant arguments, not forgetting her vicious fabrications euphemised as idle gossip.
A Port Harcourt based artiste, M-Kaze, recently consulted with Bar Baric Entertainment for promotional services, for which among several bloggers and micro-bloggers, his label chose Linda Ikeji.

'My first Father's Day present': Kanye West reveals what Kim Kardashian gave him following birth of North

Kanye West has revealed his first Father's Day gift from Kim Kardashian. The 36-year-old broke
his self-imposed privacy policy to share details of the unique present on
Monday. He tweeted a photograph of two Apple computer mice signed by the
company's founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. 'One of the other gifts my girl gave me
for fathers day,' he wrote alongside the snap. Kim, 32, gave birth to
North on June 15 and Kanye, 36, celebrated his first Father's Day just 24 hours
later. Of course, the rapper - who is not known for his modesty - recently
compared himself to the late Jobs in an interview with the New York Times.
Referring to himself in the third person, he said: 'I think what Kanye
West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I am
undoubtedly, you know, Steve of Internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period.
By a long jump. 'I honestly feel that because Steve has passed, you know, it's like when
Biggie passed and Jay-Z was allowed to become Jay-Z.' Kanye also counts
Wozniak as a friend and the tech guru recently revealed he was one of the
chosen few to have an audience with North.

It's a Fur-rari! Supercar is given a make-over and covered in VELVET at a cost of £5,000
Passers-by in an up-market
part of London were bemused when they saw a 205mph Ferrari wrapped in velvet. The
'Furrari' 599 was spotted parked on Sloane Street with its unique
bodywork made of the luxury material. The £150,000 motor, seen parked on single
yellow lines, has been customised with a layer of velvet-type material covering
all the bodywork - at a cost estimated to be in the region of £5,000. An onlooker
said: 'People who have enough money to be able to afford a Ferrari shouldn't be
allowed to cover it in velvet.
'It's
tacky - it reminded me of the dog van from Dumb and Dumber. It just goes to
show that money can't buy taste.' Perhaps unsurprisingly, the left-hand drive
car has a personalised number-plate, but only on the back. Under UK law, cars
must have plates on the front and rear of the vehicle. The Ferrari 599 is
fitted with a 6-litre V12 engine which gives it a 0-62mph time of just 3.7
seconds and a top speed of 205mph. Celebrity 599 owners have included Frank
Lampard, Cristiano Ronaldo and Tamara Ecclestone. Only 599 of the model were
ever produced. Of these, approximately 125 went to the United States.

Prada cast a black model for the first time in TWO DECADES
Prada have cast a black
model for their fall/winter 13 campaign for the first time since 1994. Malaika
Firth, a Kenyan-born, U.K.-raised model, is one of seven in the new ad
campaign, starring alongside the likes of industry heavyweight Christy
Turlington and Chinese model Fei Fei Sun. Prada rarely hires Asian and
black models so the 19-year-old's inclusion in the campaign is something of a
milestone. Malaika, who has been modelling since 2011, is the first black face
of Prada since Naomi Campbell in 1994. Between Campbell's runway appearance in
1993, and 2008, when Jourdan Dunn took to the catwalk, Prada had no black
models in any of its women's runway shows.
The Twittersphere seem
extremely excited about the big news.
One user wrote: 'What took
so long? “@GlobalGrindStyl: Prada breaks two decade hiatus by casting a black
model in ad campaign.' Another added: 'Prada wakes up, casts black model for
first time in 19 years.' Jenna Sauers, a writer from Jezebel.com,
wrote: 'As we've documented repeatedly on this website, the fashion
industry as a whole has a number of problems with race - whether it's the
under-representation of models of color on the world's biggest runways, or the
spate of ignorant but widely copied trends, like blackface references in
editorials. 'Perhaps no single brand has embodied near-total whiteness
more than Prada. What made the company finally hire a black model for its
seasonal ad campaign? Prada isn't saying. Let's hope it won't be 19 years before
we see another.'

My name is sophia and I have been married for the past 9 yrs,I'm blessed with 3 kids( 2boys and a girl) and I have the most amazing hubby.. I'm trying to correct the notion that all marriages are wacky and all because that's not true.. It wouldn't be nice if some single girls out there don't get to know that marriages can work if u make it happen.
I got married 9yrs ago to my hubby, we dated for a year and got married.. My friends were like it was too soon since we barely know ourselves, I was staying in Abuja while him in Lagos, I just come occasionally to visit him, so after a year, we figured it was time to move to the next level which was very amazing.. We got married and I started living the life of a married woman.. We loved each other so much but their were things we did not know about each other since it was long distance hence posed a problem for us.. I had very bad mouth as of that time.. I do like to challenge everyone including him which he didn't like.. We argued a lot which ends up with several beatings..

Hilarious elevator messages reveal what neighbors really think about each other

Given that people probably
live closer to each other today than ever before, it could be induced therefore
that everybody speaks to their neighbours and knows their names. But these
photos show that communication between households in apartment buildings
appears to be limited to elevator messages.Snapped in various apartment
elevators in urban dwellings, it is clear to see that some people prefer to
look on the bright side when their neighbours annoy them, while others simply
like to vent their anger. Either way, they certainly make for
some entertaining reading for those who find themselves starring at the inside
of an escalator killing time while they ascend the building. Comical message joke about keeping farts outside of the
elevator, and questioning whether or not the stairs are broken to access lower
floors. One joker has also drawn
on a picture of 'Time machine' doors on the escalator entrance. While another
explains, in farm animal terms, just what the weight limit is for the lift.
Astonishing talent of autistic Iris, three, whose paintings have stunned the art world

Little Iris Halmshaw loves
to paint. She does so with intense focus and concentration. The results are
abstract and impressionistic: there is something of Monet’s Water Lilies in her
serene, aqueous style. Iris’s work is creating a buzz in the art world. A
private collector has just bought two of her original works for £1,500 each.
Prints are being snapped up for as much as £295. A solo exhibition in London,
and subsequent auction, are planned. All of which would be gratifying for any
emerging young talent. But Iris is just three years old. What makes her
achievement even more extraordinary, however, is the fact she is autistic. She
cannot speak, other children unnerve and distress her, the unpredictability of
the world fills her with fear and panic. But art has soothed and calmed her — a
source of delight and a therapy. ‘When Iris was diagnosed with autism, the key
was to find something she loved to do,’ says her mum, Arabella Carter-Johnson.
‘I’d taken her to a playgroup, but it had been disastrous.
‘There was one particularly
noisy toy train that made her very distressed. She’d have a meltdown, an
uncontrolled tantrum, any time a child played with it.
‘She’d bite into the
plastic spoon she always carries in her left hand until her head shook. She’d
cling to me like a limpet, throw her body towards the door and hit me if we
didn’t leave. ‘At home, she became withdrawn. She would bite her lip until
it bled.’
American doctor returns bones of Vietnamese man's amputated arm after he took them as a bizarre wartime memento

An American doctor, who
kept the bones of a patient’s amputated arm as a bizarre wartime memento, has
returned them to the man 47 years later. Dr Sam Axelrad took the arm
bones home to Houston from Vietnam in 1966 after his medical colleagues boiled
off the flesh, reconstructed the arm bones and gave them to him as a souvenir. The
doctor flew to Vietnam to meet the amputee, former North Vietnamese soldier
Nguyen Quang Hung, today after he found the bones in a military bag
in his closet where they had sat for decades. Mr Hung thought it was strange
that a doctor would want to keep his bones as a souvenir but was happy to be
reunited with his amputated arm after he was shot in the arm by American troops
during the Vietnam War. The 73-year-old said: ‘I
can't believe that an American doctor took my infected arm, got rid of the
flesh, dried it, took it home and kept it for more than 40 years.
‘I don't think it's the
kind of keepsake that most people would want to own but I look forward to
seeing him again and getting my arm bones back.’
