His & Hers Dinner Date: Outfit Idea 42

Its Over Toke Makinwa Confirms Split from Maje Ayida

Toke Makinwa confirms split from long time boy-friend Maje Ayida, in an interview with Sunday Punch
“I am not under any pressure to get married. It’s the society that puts pressure on women not minding that divorce rates are high. I was once in a long term relationship with Maje Ayida and it has come to an end. I think it’s unfair for me to speak about our relationship because he is not here to defend himself. He is an amazing guy but it was not meant to be. It’s strange being single again but I am taking it one step after the other. One of the mistakes I made in my last relationship is that we dated for a long time. They were amazing years but they were also 12 long years. When you are faithful to someone, know what you can tolerate. My Mr Right has to be God-fearing, who would not do certain things because he is God-fearing. He has to understand what I do and must not be selfish in any way”.She also confirmed getting paid for appearance at events "I enjoy going out and there are some appearances that I would be paid for if my brand aligns with what they are pushing for. I have people who come to me saying they want me to appear at their weddings or birthdays and ask how much I would bill them. It’s not every event that I get paid to attend. It’s called an appearance fee."

Daughter's touching photographs chronicle her parents' joint battle with cancer

Howie and Laurel embrace. The couple, married for 34 years, never imagined they would have been diagnosed with stage-4 cancer at the same time
For most families, coping with one cancer diagnosis is a struggle, but Howie and Laurel Borowick found out they were both facing the disease at the same time.
Their daughter Nancy chronicled the couple's progress as they began their treatments and continually swapped roles from carer and patient, husband and wife.
The intimate series of photos by the New York photographer capture the exhaustion and low points, as well as moments of joy - including when they both walked Nancy down the aisle at her wedding. Howie and Laurel, who had been married for 34 years, could never have imaged they would both be diagnosed with stage-4 cancer at the same time. Laurel was told she had breast cancer for the third time and Howie, pancreatic cancer. As they embarked on their exhausting chemotherapy treatment, Nancy captured their progress, from the trips to the medical center where the couple took it in turns to drive, while one slept in the backseat, to the 'his and hers' chairs where the drugs were administered.

Lamar Odom says he wanted out of his marriage... even though Khloe Kardashian actually filed for divorce

MissAkanke.blogspot.co.uk
Lamar Odom wanted to end his marriage to Khloe Kardashian. While the reality TV starlet actually filed the divorce papers on Friday, friends of Lamar claim he was ready to end their four year union and just wants to focus on his basketball career.
According to TMZ, Lamar, who has been accused of drug use and infidelity, told his friends, 'I can't be f*****g with Khloe.  She brings out the bad side of me.'
Khloe and Lamar tied the knot in 2009, just four weeks after meeting but cracks began emerging earlier this year when various women came forward to claim affairs with him. While the allegations have not been confirmed, TMZ reports Lamar blames the cheating on his friends for 'supporting me the wrong way by bringing girls around.' Now Lamar is said to be more concerned by getting his career back on track and is planning to put all his energy into getting signed by his former team, the LA Clippers. Khloe – who has been linked to baseball star Matt Kemp - filed for divorce from Lamar after four years of marriage on Friday citing irreconcilable differences.

Nelson Mandela is laid to rest in his childhood home after four hour service and full tribal burial rites

MissAkanke.blogspot.co.uk
Nelson Mandela has today been buried in the remote village where the anti-apartheid icon grew up after his four-hour state funeral this morning.South Africa's first black President died in his Johannesburg home on December 5, at the age of 95 after a long battle with illness and he was laid to rest in his grave in Qunu in Eastern Cape province. Troops lined the route up to the hillside as Mandela was carried on a gun carriage to the private burial on his family’s estate.
As his body was placed on the grave the South African flag on the coffin was removed and handed to Mandela's widow Graca Machel, who was comforted by his ex-wife Winnie Mandela. A fly-past then followed accompanied by a 21-gun salute and a solitary trumpeter played the Last Post while his body was lowered into the ground. As he was buried a military chaplain said: 'Yours was truly a long walk to freedom, and now you have achieved the ultimate freedom, in the bosom of your maker.' His funeral was also marked by his Xhosa tribe whose elders will have slaughtered an ox to accompany his spirit after burial, while guests would be asked to drink its blood from a communal bowl.

It's over: Heartbroken Khloe Kardashian files for divorce from Lamar Odom after four years of marriage

Facing reality: The TV personality got her Sixth Man player husband to co-star with her in 2011's Khloe & Lamar
Khloe Kardashian has filed for divorce from Lamar Odom after four years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences. The reality star, 29, who is being represented by sister Kim's former attorney Laura Wasser, asked to have Odom dropped from her surname, according to TMZ. The couple reportedly have an 'ironclad' prenup and the beauty is asking for no spousal support from the NBA player, 34. She wants the judge to reject any of the former Lakers' requests for support as well. Just hours earlier the beauty looked focused as she dashed into a high-end fitness facility in Beverly Hills to meet with her personal trainer. Wearing workout clothes and carrying both a large bag and a rucksack, the LA native kept her head down as she went in for a therapeutic sweat session - with her wedding ring notably absent from her left hand.
She has not been spotted with her ring on since November 22. Lamar has not been photographed since November 28. On Thursday, the Keeping up with the Kardashians star posted a self-empowering message to her Instagram account, increasing the speculation that the end of her union is near.

Historic snow fall on Holy Land After getting its first flakes in 100 years

Icy blast: The Western Wall compound in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel, today was covered with snow as temperatures plunge below zero
It's a festive scene that's adorned countless Christmas cards... and, for once, the Holy Land actually became a snow covered winter scene. The ancient city of Jerusalem, which normally basks in fierce heat, was dusted with a light covering of snow during a freak blizzard. And snow fell on the streets of Egypt for the first time in 112 years as one of the worst winter storms to hit the Middle East in living memory set in. The rare sight of pristine white precipitation greeted stunned residents of Cairo this morning who took to social media to express their shock at the unsettling weather in the usually sweltering capital. The blizzard, which has been named Alexa, forced Jerusalem into lockdown today after more than 50cm of snow was dumped on the region. The unusual weather system brought travel chaos and disruption to much of the region.
People had to abandon their cars and seek emergency shelter as the snowstorm brought transport to a standstill. Police set up roadblocks on routes in and out of the ancient city.

Dooney's Kitchen: Ayamase Popularly Known as Ofada Stew

Looking back, this was one of the first recipes that I posted. In fact, it was the second recipe on my Bella Naija BN Cuisine feature. When I look back at the pictures from that post, I can’t help but cringe for a few seconds and that feeling is replaced by pride and gratitude for how far I have come in this food blogosphere. This past weekend, I decided on a do over on one of my favourite stews till date. The Ijebu’s are known for very many wonderful things, of which Aya Mase is one of them. It should be our official tribe stew because of its fame and popularity.
I taught my flatmate to make this stew weeks ago, and while teaching him, I picked up a few new things myself and that pot was the best I have ever made.
